Progress tracking

Because you continuously rate how well you remembered a card, Recall can give you a precise picture of what you know at any given time.

Card retention

Card retention is the estimated probability that you remember a card at a given time. You can visualize it over time in the card's detail panel, in the Progress tab, along with other details such as its card stage and difficulty.

Deck retention

The deck retention is the average of the estimated probabilities of remembering each of its cards at a given time.

You can visualize the deck retention over time on the deck's page, in the Progress tab. When your deck retention reaches your target retention, the gauge turns green.

Overall retention

The overall retention is the average retention of all your decks. You can visualize it in the main menu under the Progress section.

Card stages

Any card in Recall is in one of the following card stages:

• Unscheduled: The card is not scheduled yet.
• Learning: The card has recently been scheduled.
• Relearning: The card was in the review phase but you forgot it.
• Young: The card is in the review phase but still has short intervals (less than 21 days).
• Mature: The card is in the review phase and has long intervals (21 days or more).
• Suspended: The card is not shown in reviews and can't be scheduled automatically until it is unsuspended.

You can consider that you "know" a card once it has reached the Mature stage, which means your memory of it is stable and it will take you a long time to forget it.

Cards progress

In the main Progress section or the Progress tab of a deck, you can follow the evolution of the card stages over time.

The cards progress is only available on the Pro plan.
